Petersfield Music Festival March 26

Year 5 had a fantastic time on Monday and Wednesday evening performing at the Petersfield Music Festival. The event was both exciting and challenging, offering the children a wonderful opportunity to develop their musical skills and confidence. They worked hard to learn a varied and inspiring programme of songs, featuring music by Andrew Carter, Richard Stilgoe, Joseph Haydn, as well as pieces from the musical Hercules. Being part of the combined schools choir,  they sang alongside many other young performers, creating a powerful and memorable sound.

The children rose to the occasion brilliantly, showing great enthusiasm, focus, and teamwork throughout their performances. Their behaviour was exemplary, and they represented the school with pride.

In addition to performing, the pupils were able to experience a wide range of live music. They enjoyed listening to talented wind and jazz bands, as well as accomplished singers and violinists.

Overall, it was a rewarding and enriching experience for everyone involved. The festival not only celebrated music but also helped the children grow in confidence and appreciation for live performance. Well done, Year 5!
