Admissions Process
The County Council will consider first all those applications received by the published deadline of midnight on 15 January 2027. Notifications to parents offering a primary or infant school place will be sent by the County Council on 15 April 2027.
Applications made after the deadline will be considered after all on-time applications have been fully processed unless exceptional circumstances merit consideration alongside on-time applications.
For the normal admission round, all on time preferences will be considered simultaneously and ranked in accordance with the admission criteria. If more than one school can offer a place, the parent’s highest stated available preference will be allocated.

Hampshire County Council Year R Admissions
Guidance for parents who are applying for a place in reception (Year R) or a place at junior school (Year 3), or who are making enquiries at a school about the admissions process:
- Include three school preferences on the application to maximise the likelihood of receiving an offer at one of their preferred schools.
- Ensure applications are submitted by the closing date of 15 January 2027.
- Use the County Council’s school catchment area finder to identify the catchment school for their home address.
- Read the school’s admission policies to understand how places are allocated and the criteria that apply where a school is oversubscribed.
- Think about how your child will get to school. See travel to school to help plan your journey and find out if you are eligible for help with transport. You must name your catchment school(s) if you have one, as a preference if you wish to apply for travel assistance.
In year applications
For admission applications at any other time of the year (in Year application), you can either apply directly to the Hampshire website, or to the school office to discuss your application further or to collect an application form. All applications will be considered following the school’s admissions policy.
