Week 5 - The build and pre-drive prep.
This week in Goblins we had lots of different stations and we rotated around them. It was also the first week that we got to do stuff on the cars.
This week in Goblins we had lots of different stations, one of them being photography.
In photography we went around the room taking pictures of the activities we were doing, we also had to make sure that we had enough pictures of the car so we can put it back together again in a few weeks’ time.
It was great fun because as well as what we were doing we could see what everyone else was doing and we got to take lots of action shots, that was great fun!
If you want to see any of these photos they should be on the Blog soon.
One of the stations today was Admin. I didn’t really know what it was at first. Mrs Harris explained that we are going to time the races and wheel challenges and she showed us how we will enter the numbers onto spreadsheets. We will then be able to make graphs from them to show if we get better!
Working on the cars
Working on the cars was amazing! We used tools to take the cars apart and we also learnt about the different parts of the cars. It was really fun because we got to use lots of different tools and learn about the cars and how they work. We made excellent progress on them and we basically stripped the car naked!
Today we started thinking about design – what the cars would look like and also what we will look like on the Goodwood day! Mrs Cox and Mrs Roy helped us and I got to design my outfit which was really fun. I love what I came up with - my outfit was an English flag with 2017 across the t-shirt.
Mrs Siggers explained to us that the Portfolio shows what we have been doing at the Goblins club. It is to show that we haven’t just turned up at Goodwood with cars that someone else has made – we have built them and thought about what the cars look like and how they work.
We also looked at the Blog which is on our school website to show everyone what fun we have been having. We can all write some of the blog if we want to.
