School Quiz Semi-Final Report

In October, our school proudly entered the National Quiz Championships. Although we finished in 5th place, our impressive score of over 2000 points earned us a coveted place in the semi-finals, which took place today.

From the very first round, our team showed remarkable confidence and teamwork.

  • First 5 questions: a perfect score

  • Next 5: only 1 missed

  • Following round: a clean sweep

  • Next 5: just 1 missed

  • Another clean sweep

  • Final 5 questions (worth 100 points each): just 1 missed

Across 30 challenging questions, the children answered with knowledge, reasoning, and incredible connection-making skills. They explained their thinking clearly and supported one another beautifully throughout the competition. What a team!

In total, we missed only 4 questions out of 30, a fantastic achievement—though sadly, it wasn’t enough to secure a place in the final. While it is disappointing not to progress, both the children and the staff involved, including Mrs Mifsud and myself, thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and the experience.

We are enormously proud of every team member and the dedication they showed. This was an outstanding effort!

Next up is the Mathematics Quiz Championship, and we are excited to begin holding trials in each of the junior year groups. We look forward to seeing even more children take part.

Well done, team—your school is incredibly proud of you!
