Dear Parents/Carers
What a busy week we've had! I'm excited to share all the fantastic activities and achievements from our school.
Last Saturday, we held our Ground Force Day, and what an incredible turnout we had! At one point, around 40 wonderful volunteers were working hard to transform our school grounds. A massive thank you to everyone who helped clear the pond and back vegetable patch area. Our pupils have been busy entering a competition related to this project, and we'll soon be voting on the entries. The winner will receive a book token - a lovely reward for their creativity and effort.
I'm thrilled to announce our new Head Pupils for this year: Lulu and Noah! They were selected by our staff for their outstanding applications and exceptional role modelling throughout the school. A big congratulations to them, and thanks to all our Year 6 pupils who applied.

Our pupils have been representing Sheet Primary brilliantly in various events this week. On Monday, Ella-Rose, Dino, Ollie, and Millie participated in the Churchers schools quiz, doing a fantastic job and making us proud. The next day, our Herons class visited Fishbourne Roman Palace - the largest Roman home in Britain. They explored the recreated gardens and saw the largest collection of mosaics in situ in the UK, which I'm sure was an incredible learning experience.
Speaking of impressive achievements, I took three amazing runners (Remy, Luna and Sam) to the Bohunt Cross Country School's run on Tuesday. They did an excellent job and truly embodied the spirit of our school. Coming 2nd, 4th and 9th.
We've just completed our first parents' evening of the year. I want to extend a huge thank you to our teachers who worked extra hours to ensure parents are fully updated on how their children are settling into their new year groups.
We're also excited about our first EARA (Equality and Child Rights) group. Seven of our pupils attended their first meeting at Langrish, and we're looking forward to hearing about their experiences in promoting equality and child rights across our county's primary schools.
Looking ahead to next week:
- Eight of our runners will be taking part in the Midhurst Milers 2K Blackdown race. We'll meet at Fernhurst Recreation Ground at 8.40am for a 9am start Sunday 12th October - see you there!.
- Nasal flu immunisations will take place on Tuesday for children whose parents have signed up.
- Herons will continue their keyboard lessons on Wednesday.
- We'll be hosting new parent tours on Thursday.
It's been a week full of learning, growth, and community spirit. I'm continually impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication of our pupils, staff, and parents.
Finally and importantly, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE get involved in the Fireworks evening planning/event. This is a huge fundraiser for the school and as always, many hands make light work. See below details but sign up to help and buy tickets here. https://app.classlist.com/login/#/?unauthorized=parent
PLEASE NOTE: Running club is not for infant children. We could look not running one but mixing them with the juniors is difficult to manage as they are working on specific things in their training.

Have an amazing weekend all!
