Dear Parents and Carers
We have some really exciting vacancies coming up over the next few weeks and months which you may be interested in:
Firstly our lovely Tamar is stepping down as Chair of FOSS after 3 amazing years, it is with very special thanks to Tamar that we have been able to do and build all of the wonderful things here at school and support our children in the best way possible. Huge thanks to you Tamar!
Next we have a vacancy for a lovely LSA to come and work in our school. Full or part time. Please apply online https://south.education-jobs.org.uk/ where you will find the job specifications and how to apply.
Senior Admin officer - It is with great sadness (for us) and utter joy (for her) that our wonderful Mrs Burford is going to retire at the end of the school year. Gill and I have worked harmoniously together for the last 10 years - not a cross word ever said and I am sure you will join me in saying she will be 'terribly' missed. However we have another 3 months before that fateful day and the vacancy for her role is advertised on the jobs and careers website https://south.education-jobs.org.uk/ (4 days a week term time only/except for 2 weeks in summer).
If you or anyone you know may be interested in these roles please do get in touch!
As for this week, it seems to have flown by. Our Herons class had their first residential on Wednesday and although there were some very nervous children (and parents), they have come back beaming with excitement about it. A very special thanks to Mr Spiers, Mrs Newton, Mrs Ward for looking after them so well and to Mrs Burford and Mrs Cox who drove the minibuses. Those children have made some wonderful memories.
Next week is SATs week and swimming starts for Herons class, children will be walking from school after lunch, having their lesson and travelling back by minibus. Please remember, PE kits are their uniform for Mondays, bring goggles, hats, trunks/bathers and a towel. Check the letters for more details.
Year 6's are ready for next week, they were born ready!! whatever the result, please remember that SATs are only a snapshot of performance on a particular day. They do not measure a child’s kindness, creativity, resilience, personality, or full potential. We are so proud of them all!
Pokémon cards, toys and similar items should not be brought into school. We actively discourage these as they often cause distractions, arguments between children, and upset when items are lost or damaged. School cannot take responsibility for missing items. Thank you for supporting us by ensuring these stay at home rather than coming into school each day. If we do see them they will be confiscated for the rest of the day.
Good luck to the 10 runners at the Cocking 3km trail run on Sunday....see you there!
