Spring 9                                                        8 March 2024

Dear Parents/Carers,

Phew that was a very busy week!  Y5 completed their Bikeability training at the start of the week, we held our Bedtime Stories event in the library on World Book Day itself which was VERY popular, a big thank you to Mrs Child for giving up some of her evening and then today we had Mother's Day lunches, poetry recitals, dressing up and paper plate design winners.

Our Paper plate competition was judged by our staff and the winners were: Jasper, Kira, Flora, Poppy, Lucy Rose, Viann and Ava.

Our outfit winners again judged by the staff were: Jasper, Sophie, Enid, Alice, Lucy-Rose, Bertie and Callie.

We are holding an Easter Raffle again this year and again is always popular. We will raise funds for playground equipment. Tickets are being sold in the office, £2 for a strip of raffle tickets. There are some lovey Easter eggs on display outside the office.

Next week is British science week and to mark that year 5s will be off to Stepping Stones to help the pre-school children with some experiments and on Thursday we will be having a day of exciting science based activities looking at the theme of protecting the future of the living things in our habitat. We are asking for a few donations to enable this to run smoothly please:

  • toilet and kitchen roll tubes
  • Newspapers
  • Any spare toilet rolls (with the paper still on them!)
  • Empty, clean yoghurt pots
  • Bottle tops (like the green or blue milk types)

If these could start coming in from Monday that would be really helpful! Many thanks.

Assemblies next week will be led by Bruce our vicar on Monday and Dee Tickner from Henry Adams who will hold an assembly on their forthcoming Olympic Competition.

It sounds like it is going to be just as busy next week, but that is what primary school's are all about!

Enjoy some time out for Mother's Day - each and every mum out there is a special one (make sure you get some down time and some chocolate!)

Enjoy your weekend.

Mrs Robinson

                          Year 2 - Flora

COMIC RELIEF RED NOSE DAY

On Friday 15th March, Kestrels will be holding a fundraising event during the afternoon to raise money for Comic Relief!

All children are invited to bring money to play the games. Some of the games will include ping pong, guess how many sweets are in the jar, face paints and guess the teachers' baby photos!

Prizes will be handed out too!
