Autumn 9                                          8 November 2024

Hello everyone!

A great first week back! It's been non-stop action here at Sheet Primary, and I'm excited to share all the wonderful things happening in our school community.

We've had a flurry of new parents touring our school, considering us for their little ones come September. It's always a joy to showcase our fantastic learning environment and see the excitement in their eyes as they imagine their children joining our Sheet family.

Speaking of celebrations, a big happy birthday shout-out to Miss Buxey! We hope she had a fantastic day filled with lots of cake and laughter. Next week Mrs Galley & Mrs Sammes celebrate theirs!

Our Herons have been strumming up a storm with their ukulele lessons. It's amazing to see their enthusiasm and how quickly they're picking up those chords. Who knows, we might have some future rock stars in our midst!

For all you bookworms out there, our book fair has been a massive hit! If you're still on the hunt for some Christmas presents (yes, it's never too early to start), pop by tonight for one last browse. It's a great opportunity to encourage reading while ticking off that gift list.

Calling all sports enthusiasts! Basketball club kicks off tonight with JC Sports, so get ready to shoot some hoops and have a ball!

Now, let's talk about our upcoming fireworks extravaganza this weekend. A massive thank you to everyone who's signed up to help out, and an extra special shout-out to our incredible FOSS firework team. They've been working tirelessly to make this event spectacular. There's still time to lend a hand or donate some delicious cakes, so don't be shy! We had six absolutely fantastic 'guys' brought in this year. While we may have had fewer entries, the quality was off the charts! After much deliberation, the staff have crowned 'LEGOMAN' by Theo and Jasper as this year's winner. Well done!

Remember, the fireworks blast off at 4pm on Saturday at the Millennium field. Let's make this our best event yet!

Looking ahead to next week, I'll be taking a team to Bohunt School for some after-school football action. We still have spaces in the  team for Tuesday's tournament at Bohunt, 3.45-5pm so if your child would like to participate and has not yet been signed up, please email adminoffice@sheet.hants.sch.uk as soon as possible.

And finally, some exciting news: Mrs Beenham is embarking on her long-awaited forest school training next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. A big thank you to FOSS for funding this fantastic opportunity.

Talking of opportunities that FOSS have given us, we had a wonderful set of 6 nearly new i-pads delivered to school this week. THANK YOU! We will get these set up as soon as possible. Thank you Mr and Mrs Tregaskes and the FOSS team.

Have a brilliant weekend, everyone. See you at the fireworks on Saturday.

Thank you from PACT

With regards to your amazing Harvest donations, the committee, volunteers and I wish to wholeheartedly thank the School staff, pupils, nursery, parents and all involved in your Harvest Festival celebrations. This donation makes such a huge difference to our stock levels. The Food banks help to assist those in need is increasing and I do not think this is going to change any time soon, so all the support you give is invaluable.

RECYCLING OF OLD CHRISTMAS CARDS

If anyone has any old Christmas cards they are happy to donate for the Xmas Craft Night, please drop them into the office.
