What a fantastic week we've had at Sheet Primary! The sun has been shining, and so have our pupils.
Firstly road safety awareness, we have had our lovely JSRO Year 5 teams out recently (if you've had a little 'ticket' on your car). Also on that note, please can you look out for child cyclists in the morning please slow and give them some space, it is great that children are developing the confidence to ride to school but some consideration is needed when we get onto school lane.
Our Kestrels had an absolutely brilliant gala swimming practice on Monday morning. The weather was perfect, and our swimmers were in top form – they really did shine! It's wonderful to see their confidence growing in the water, and they're clearly ready for what's ahead.
Two lucky children got to spend the morning at Bedales as part of our small schools offer, with pond dipping, pizza making and much more - see story below.
This morning brought more excitement as we sent not one, but two teams to the West Meon football tournament. I'm so proud of how well they performed, making it all the way to the quarter finals! While they were up against some particularly strong local teams and missed out on medals this time, their effort and teamwork were absolutely fantastic. These experiences are so valuable for our pupils, and they should feel incredibly proud of their achievements.
A huge thank you to everyone who has already completed our questionnaire – we're now up to 44 responses! That's brilliant, but I know we can do even better. Let's see if we can beat last year's response rate. Every voice matters, and your feedback really does help shape what we do here at school.

Next week is shaping up to be wonderfully busy. On Monday, TPS will be visiting to meet our current Year 6 pupils – an important step in their transition journey. Our Kestrels will also be back in the pool for their second gala practice swim. Even if they're not competing in the actual gala, they still need to take this fantastic opportunity to swim. Who wouldn't want to, right?
Wednesday is particularly special with not one, but two exciting events. It's Sports Day! We'll start the morning with activities that earn points for your children's houses, then in the afternoon we welcome you all to join us for the races. Please bring chairs, blankets, or whatever you need to be comfortable – we start at 1.30pm sharp. Wednesday evening also sees our New Year R parents induction evening, where our wonderful new families will meet each other and their September teachers.
Thursday and Friday lunchtimes are dedicated to Father's Day celebrations. Infant dads, you must have booked your place already, but what a treat awaits! Come and enjoy lunch with your child and watch them at playtime – these moments are so precious.
