Dear Parents,
What an incredible week we've had at Sheet Primary School! I'm absolutely thrilled to share all the wonderful things that have been happening with our pupils.
I must say last Friday's colour run was a HUGE success, sadly I missed it but looking at the photos, a brilliant time was had by all - we love the colour run - thanks goes to FOSS and all of the team for organising such a fun event for the children and families.
Our Year 5s had a fantastic day out at TPS for their Small Schools Sports Day. A huge thank you goes to Mrs Mifsud and Mr Dryburgh who stepped in at the last minute to make sure this brilliant opportunity happened for our Year 5s. They had such a great day enjoying all the sports activities, and it was perfect timing for them to see TPS and meet other pupils from small schools who'll be joining them there next year. These connections are so valuable for our pupils as they prepare for their next adventure.
Herons held a splendid African drumming assembly on Wednesday - a culmination of all of their music lessons learning - a great sound boomed from the hall!
I'm bursting with pride about our Peter Pan production – what a huge success it was! The children absolutely danced, acted and sang their hearts out. It's always wonderful to see new talent emerge during these special opportunities, and every single pupil shone on that stage. The whole production was magical, and I know how hard everyone worked to make it happen.
Thank you so much for your incredible support with the production. The ticket sales, bar and ice cream sales raised nearly £1000 for the school – that's absolutely amazing! Your generosity means we can continue to provide these fantastic experiences for our pupils.
Kestrels also had a brilliant visit from 'The Money Workshop' this week. It was really useful teaching about the value of money, savings and financial awareness – such important life skills for our pupils to learn.
Today marks our final transition day, and our Year 6s are off on their leavers trip to Paulton Park! What an exciting way to celebrate the end of their primary school journey. Don't forget, you also have the opportunity to 'meet the teacher' at the end of the school day today.
Looking ahead to next week, we have our final few days in school. Unfortunately, with rain forecast, we've had to cancel the seasonal walk that was planned for Monday. However, our Year 6s have their last hoorah coming up – their leavers assembly at 2.30pm and disco at 6.30pm on Monday.
Tuesday brings our end of term assembly at 11am. You'll have been contacted if your child is receiving a special prize, followed by our lovely end of term 'picnic on the field'. As it's a picnic on the field on the last day, only 'picnic option' will be available for lunch on Tuesday. We're back in for registration, and we finish at 1.15pm.
The clubs list for the Autumn term is on its way and it is first come first served.
Please remember that all dinner money and accounts must be at zero by the last day of term.
What a term it's been!
