Dear Parents and Carers,
What a wonderfully busy and exciting week it has been across the school! From sporting adventures and curious creatures to ongoing improvements around our grounds, there has been a real buzz of activity that has kept pupils and staff smiling throughout.
PACT Christmas Card Winners
A huge well done to Thea Kortright, Joseph Orme and Lulu Coleman who all gained prizes in this year's PACT competition.
Years 3 and 4 Dodgeball Event at Bohunt
At the start of the week, a group of enthusiastic Year 3 and 4 pupils travelled to Bohunt School to take part in a spirited dodgeball sports event. The children represented our school brilliantly, showing impressive teamwork, determination and sportsmanship. For many, it was a chance to challenge themselves, try new techniques and enjoy healthy competition with pupils from neighbouring schools. Well done to all who took part—you made us proud!
Parent Tours and Growing Interest for September 2026
Alongside our pupil adventures, we have continued to welcome families for new parent tours. It has been a pleasure meeting so many prospective parents, all eager to learn more about what makes our school such a special community. Interest for the September 2026 intake has been exceptionally strong, and we are delighted that so many families are considering joining us in the future. Thank you to everyone involved in helping our school shine during these visits.
A Wild Visit from Zoolab
One of the week’s major highlights came courtesy of Zoolab, who brought along a fascinating selection of creatures for our Year 1 and 2 pupils to meet. The classroom was buzzing with excitement as the children came face to face with Shelly the snail, Callie the cockroach, Fred the frog, Tilly the tarantula, Pumpkin the corn snake and Laura the gerbil. Each animal brought its own moment of awe, curiosity and, in some cases, a tiny bit of nervous giggling! The session offered a wonderful hands-on learning experience, helping pupils understand more about different habitats, lifecycles and the importance of caring for all living things.
Thank You for our two amazing outdoor spaces!
We would also like to extend a huge thank you to Chloe for her fantastic work planting the wildlife garden - there is still more to do but what a great start to . creating a beautiful and nurturing outdoor space that will benefit pupils and local wildlife for years to come. Another enormous thank you goes to Will Sutton, who completed the outdoor classroom this week. This new space is already proving to be a wonderful enhancement to our school environment, offering a peaceful and inspiring area for outdoor learning, storytelling and exploration. We are incredibly grateful for the support and commitment shown by both Chloe and Will.
We will officially open up both of these facilities in the very near future!
Next Week at School
With December fast approaching, Christmas celebrations are now moving full steam ahead!
Last week of clubs!!!!
Christmas Tree Appeal
Before the festivities fully begin, we do have a small request: we are still in need of a Christmas tree for the school. If any lovely members of our community would be willing to donate one, we would be extremely grateful.
Snacks
Please ensure that only fruit, vegetables or breadsticks are brought in for snack time; no packaged snacks/bars/biscuits.
Nativity Tickets
Tickets for the Nativity performance are now available online. They are priced at £3 each, with a maximum of two tickets per pupil in total. The performance will run from 4.00pm to 5.30pm. It promises to be a magical event, and we can’t wait to see our pupils sparkle on stage. KS2 pupils will have the chance to watch the dress rehearsals on the Tuesday of that week.
Year 5/6 Football Tournament
Next week, our Year 5 and 6 pupils will also be taking part in a competitive football tournament at Bohunt, accompanied by Mrs R and Mrs M. We wish them the very best of luck—go team!
National Quiz Championship Final
A particularly exciting moment is coming up on Thursday at 10am, when four of our juniors will be competing in the National Quiz Championship Semi Finals! What an achievement to reach this stage—we’ll all be cheering you on!
Concert for Abstar pupils
Pupils who have Abstar music lessons will be giving a concert on Monday 1st December at 2.45 pm to their parents and the rest of the school.
Concert for Herons pupils
All of Herons class will be performing their learning on keyboards from this term, with a concert on Wednesday 3rd December at 2.50 pm to their parents and the rest of the school.
Christmas Craft Night
Finally, a quick note that our Christmas Craft Night, taking place on Friday 5th December, has now sold out. We look forward to a festive and creative evening with those who booked.
Parents with large cars/vans help please...
We need some parents with large cars to help collect the staging from TPS on Monday morning after drop off, for the Infant Nativity.
Next week is the last week of clubs except for Spanish which has an extra session the following week.
Have a warm and joyful weekend!
