Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been another busy and positive week across the school, with lots to celebrate and look forward to.
This week, Mrs Hines and a group of children attended their termly EARA meeting, focusing on inclusion. This was a valuable opportunity for pupils to share their views and hear how inclusion is promoted across schools. We were also delighted to welcome some children back into classrooms to observe teaching – a great chance for them to see learning from a different perspective.
We also celebrated Mrs Ramble’s birthday this week. We hope she enjoyed the special day and the many good wishes from children and staff.
After-school clubs have now started, and it has been wonderful to see such enthusiasm from the children as they take part in a wide range of activities. In addition, Key Stage 2 pupils are preparing for an upcoming finance workshop led by The Money Charity. This workshop was something the Kestrels class had included on their “wishlist” presented to the School Council, so it is particularly exciting to see their ideas being brought to life.
Looking Ahead to Next Week
Next week brings the long-awaited Young Voices concert at the O2 Arena. If your child is involved, please refer to the letter sent on 5th January, which includes all arrangements and essential information.
There will be a Year 2 parents’ meeting on Wednesday at 8:00pm. A reminder, along with the TEAMS link, will be sent out next week.
Year 5 pupils will attend their first rehearsal at Churcher’s College for the Petersfield Music Festival 2026. Children should come to school as normal in uniform, bringing a drink and snack. We will walk to Churcher’s for a 9:30am start. If any parents are able to help with collection at 11:45am, please let the school office know.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
FOSS
Happy New Year from FOSS! Hope everyone is getting through January ok. We have some exciting ideas for fundraising this term but need some volunteers to help organise them:
1. Mothers' Day crafts - Jo Deuble at the CraftZen has offered to do Mothers' day crafts again this year and has some lovely ideas of what the children can do. This is done during the school day so when the time comes all you'll need to do is to buy a ticket on Classlist and then your child/children will bring home a special gift that they've made. I just need someone to help me coordinate this with Jo - grateful for a volunteer.
2. FOSS Quiz for parents - back by popular demand although we're planning a small change this year...which is to hold the quiz at the Half Moon where we'll be sure of a warm welcome and bigger chairs!! We're aiming for a Friday evening in March and will keep you posted. Again, I would be grateful for a volunteer or two to help organise this, otherwise it may not happen.
3. Tea towels and tote bags - we are thinking of organising these again this year. I know a number of you will have lots of them from older children but equally many of you may not have them and they are one of those iconic mementos of primary school! Again, please could someone volunteer to organise this. I'm happy to provide advice/support.
Thank you. Looking forward to a great term ahead! I'll put a post out on Classlist as well. Please contact me there or directly if you can help with any of the above.
If anyone is interested in their child learning the violin, the teacher has some spaces left. Please let the office know and perhaps your child could have a taster session.
Our accessible toilet space is being refurbished this week (very long overdue) and we look forward to it being completed in a fortnight.
There are quite a few attachments this week so please read them. In particular Robins class are looking for woodwork and gardening items!
Have a wonderful weekend whatever you are up to.
