Dear Parents and Carers,
Well, as we head towards our last week before half term, we’ve had another busy and exciting week here at Sheet. Some of our Year 3 and 4 children headed off to Bohunt to take part in a Multi skills event – they learnt new skills such as curling and basketball shooting (which we won) and had a great time. Well done to Hadley, Sam and James for taking part. Our next Bohunt event is Tuesday 10th February, Tag Rugby for Year 5/6. Don’t forget to email the office if you’d like your child to take part. More sporty news, our running team went to Perins school for a 2K cross – country event. Read the report from Ned below.
Monday saw Mr Spiers deliver his residential Teams meeting to Herons class. This will be the first year that our year 3 and 4 children have gone off site for their overnight experience and they are super excited (and a little nervous). They are heading off to Tile Barn in the New Forest for one night in May. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact Mr Spiers or the school office. The children are sure to have a brilliant time and make life long memories.
Four of our year 6 children went to Bedales for an Art morning, accompanied by Mrs Ward. They had a super time, painting, printing, drawing and creating 3D paper art. Read the report from Millie & Thea below.
We are so fortunate to be able to give our children all of these wonderful experiences, it is really enriching to our curriculum offer.
Robins class have taken part in the RSPB Big birdwatch this week. They have made some excellent bird feeders (see if you can spot them hanging in the school grounds)…and been looking at the different types of birds that come to visit. We are so lucky with where we live that they have spotted a huge variety from robins to kites.
Looking ahead to next week, it is Safer Internet Week so the whole school will be learning about this in their classes. Kestrels class have a visit from a Criminal Investigator to round up their topic on Crime and Punishment and they are also off to the Mosque to enrich their learning of Islam. We are sending our amazing EARA (Equality and Rights advocates) children to a meeting to show what they have been doing over the last half term. Robins class are having a doctor come to visit on Friday as they look at People who help us. Kingfishers are off to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on Thursday. Oh and break the rules day on Friday…£1 for every rule broken and Mother's Day Gifting after half term; please see details below for both of these FOSS events.
Have a brilliant weekend, let’s hope to see some sunshine.

Julie Robinson
