Autumn 1                                                    4 Sep 2026

Dear Parents and Carers

It has been wonderful to have the true life and soul back in our classrooms this week. The children have settled back into school brilliantly and it has been lovely to see everyone again.

CLASSROOM MAKEOVERS

Our classroom makeovers have been a huge hit with the children. It is quite hard to put your finger on exactly what has changed, but the atmosphere certainly has. We hope the children are enjoying the calmer, more sensory-aware spaces – the staff certainly are!

A huge thank you again to FOSS, who listened to my proposals and the research behind our ideas and backed us with some funding to help make it happen. We very much hope to develop this further as the school year progresses.

CLUBS

There are still spaces available in Cartoon Club on Tuesdays – £55 for 11 weeks. Craft Club and Forest School are now full, but there are still some spaces available in our other clubs.

MOBILE PHONES & WALKING HOME

If children need to bring a mobile phone to school, this can only be a brick phone – NO smartphones. Phones must be dropped off at the school office on arrival and collected when children leave the school premises.

A letter has also gone out to parents of children in Years 5 and 6 regarding permission to walk home independently. Please make sure you complete and return this if you would like your child to do so.

ALLERGIES

A reminder that we are unable to share birthday cakes or food in general at school due to allergies. We are a nut free school.

Following our new allergy training, we are also asking all children to wash their hands both before and after eating lunch. Thank you for helping us to keep everyone safe.

NEW FOOTBALL KITS!

Another fabulous bit of news is that Ann McKinney and Agritek have very generously sponsored our new football kits. A huge thank you to them for their generosity and support of the school – we cannot wait to see the children wearing them and we won't have to wait long as our first tournament of the season is at Bedales on Sep 30th and October 1st. We have entered 4 junior teams into the competition as there are some VERY keen children here. If your child has expressed an interest then you will be getting an email this afternoon, Mrs Mifsud has again put her hand up to running lunchtime football training sessions for all of those competing. They will be Monday and Friday at 11.45 starting this Monday, so please bring football boots/trainers with you!

It has been wonderful to have everyone back this week. Have a fabulous weekend and we will see you on Monday!

All in all a great start to the new school year, I can't wait to meet our new Robins on Monday!
