This Week
What a fantastic week it has been for our Kestrels, who have enjoyed their three-night residential at Osmington Bay! ????
The children had a brilliant time, throwing themselves into the activities, trying new things and showing plenty of courage, teamwork and independence along the way. We are very proud of them all.
A huge thank you must go to Mrs Newton, Mrs Ward and Mrs Hines for all their careful planning, organisation and, most importantly, their wonderful care of the children throughout the trip. Residentials are such special experiences for our children, but they simply couldn't happen without staff giving up their own time to make them possible – thank you! ??
Meanwhile, all has been well back at school, with everyone enjoying another busy and productive week.
Next Week
Football at Bedales
We have a very exciting sporting week ahead! Our Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 footballers will be representing Sheet across four teams at Bedales on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. We wish all of our players the very best of luck and hope they have a fantastic time representing our school.
Walktober – Let’s Get Sheet Walking!
October marks the start of Walktober, and we would really love the whole school community to get involved! Our challenge to every family is to swap the car for walking as often as you possibly can during October.
If you live close enough, please try walking the whole way to school. If you live further away or need to drive as part of your morning routine, why not park a little further away and walk the final part of the journey? Even doing this on one or two extra days each week will make a difference.
So, throughout October, please ask yourselves each morning: “Could we walk today?” Let’s see how many extra journeys to school we can make on foot!
Homework
Some of you have been asking about homework. Our new homework approach will properly kick in from next week, once all of the children have had the opportunity to hand in their Junior Leadership whole School homework presentations. We wanted the children themselves to be very clear on the expectations of the three elements of homework (reading, maths and life skills) making sure everyone understands what is expected. Further information for parents will also be shared, so please look out for this.
???? Grandparents’ Lunches
On Thursday and Friday, we will be welcoming grandparents into school for our Infant Grandparents’ Lunches. These are always incredibly popular occasions and such a lovely opportunity for the children to share a little bit of their school day with someone special. We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone.
